Placement Coordinator

Overview:
GSRA is seeking a Placement Coordinator to join our Intake Team. This role is ideal for someone who has a flexible in their daily schedule that allows them to serve as the liaison between the shelter and the foster home.

While we typically have a few days to find a foster once a dog is accepted into the rescue, there are times when placement must happen within hours.

Responsibilities:
Once the Intake Coordinator approves a dog for rescue, the Placement Coordinator takes over responsibility for arranging its placement.

  • Collaborate with the Foster Coordinator and Transport Coordinator  to ensure the dog is safely pulled from the shelter and placed into a foster home.
  • Ensure all medical records are forwarded to the Medical Coordinator.
  • Complete the Intake Form before transferring responsibility to the Foster Coordinator, who will handle any foster-related inquiries.

Ideal Candidate:

This role is crucial to the smooth operation of the rescue. The ideal candidate must:

  • Be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Manage quickly changing plans with composure.

Why This Role Matters:

The Placement Coordinator is a critical link in the rescue process, ensuring that each dog moves quickly and smoothly from the shelter into a safe foster home. Without an efficient Placement Coordinator, dogs could remain in stressful shelter environments longer than necessary, reducing their chances of a successful transition into a loving home.

By managing time-sensitive placements and coordinating with multiple team members, the Placement Coordinator helps save lives and provides dogs with the care and stability they need. Their ability to stay organized, communicate effectively, and adapt to urgent situations directly affects the success of the rescue.
