Zoe is an 8-month-old German Shepherd with a sweet spirit and a gentle soul. She has lived her whole life on one property and is just now beginning to experience the wider world. Because of this, everything feels new and a little scary to her—but with patience and love, Zoe is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion.
Zoe is timid around new people and situations. When unsure, she may freeze or hide, but she has shown that she accepts gentle handling and wants to feel safe. She is most comfortable when near her person, and she is curious about other dogs—she approaches for quick sniffs but prefers to keep her distance until she feels secure. Zoe would do best in a calm, quiet home with an experienced adopter who can help build her confidence. Another well-mannered, confident dog in the household would be a great role model for her.
This sweet girl has never had obedience training and has not been leash-trained, so she will need patience and guidance to learn the basics. The good news is that she is already house-trained and has lived peacefully in a home environment. Zoe is not recommended for homes with small children, but she could do well with cats, as she has shown curiosity without chasing.
Zoe is not yet spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, or on preventatives.
Zoe has great potential to grow into a loyal and loving companion for the right family. With time, consistency, and kindness, this shy young pup will learn that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.
