Meet Skippy!
Skippy is an adorable German Shepherd mix (possibly full GSD) with a big personality packed into a wiggly, cuddly puppy body. He’s high-energy and playful, but just as happy to crash for a good nap after a fun romp. This goofy boy is pure joy—sweet, funny, and unbelievably affectionate. Pick him up and he melts like Jell-O in your arms.
Skippy is a confident puppy. He loves other dogs and plays beautifully, especially with his larger, older foster sister, Keela—who very patiently tolerates being dragged around the house by her collar. Skippy also loves people of all ages, including kids, and soaks up attention wherever he goes.
He may show a little bit of barrier frustration (likely from time spent in a kennel), but this has been improving quickly with consistency and structure. He does great in a fenced yard and doesn’t show interest in escaping—he’s far more interested in playtime, snacks, and cuddles.
Skippy is a smart, eager-to-learn puppy. He picked up sit and stay in just one day and is already working on leash skills (still a bit wiggly, but improving daily). He is crate trained and does wonderfully—he runs right into his crate at bedtime, sleeps through the night without a peep, and doesn’t destroy his bedding.
This boy loves his food and would benefit from a slow feeder (otherwise he’ll inhale it like it might disappear). He would thrive in a home with another playful dog, people who enjoy training and engagement, and a family ready for the fun and love that comes with a German Shepherd puppy.
Skippy is truly one of those dogs that makes you smile nonstop. Whoever gets to call him theirs will be incredibly lucky.
NOTE: GSRA has a policy of not placing puppies under one year of age in homes with children under the age of 8.
