I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Scout (CL)

I'm Available

Scout (CL) is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA.

Scout is a sweet, affectionate, and playful 4.5 year old German Shepherd who has been with us since he was a puppy. He has a gentle, loving personality and is very people-oriented. Scout enjoys being close to his family, playing with toys, and going for walks or runs. He is house trained, crate trained, and understands basic commands.

Scout has lived with his brother Gunner his entire life and the two have a strong bond. He has also been around our nieces and nephews and has always been friendly and well-mannered with them. Scout is social, loving, and enjoys attention from his people. He thrives in a home that can provide structure, regular exercise, and continued engagement typical for the German Shepherd breed.

Like many shepherds, Scout benefits from consistency and routine. He would do best with an owner who understands the breed and can provide daily exercise, mental stimulation, and a stable environment. He enjoys fetch, tug of war, chew toys, and spending time with his family.

This decision is absolutely no fault of Scout. He is a wonderful dog and has been deeply loved. Due to my own health issues, I am no longer able to consistently meet the level of exercise and structure he needs to thrive. Because we love him, we want to make sure he has the opportunity to be in a home that can fully meet his needs and give him the life he deserves.

Scout can be placed on his own in the right home, but he has been raised with his brother Gunner since they were puppies and they are very bonded. We would strongly prefer to keep them together if possible. We understand that may not always be feasible, so they are being listed separately as well, but keeping them together would be ideal.

Scout will come with his bed, toys, leashes, collars, a full bag of food, and supplies to help with a smooth transition. This is an incredibly difficult decision for our family, and we are committed to finding him a safe, stable, and loving home.

We are located in Landrum, SC and are willing to work with the right adopter within reasonable driving distance to find Scout the best possible home.
