(3-4 yrs old) Not good with cats. Dogs and kids TBDIf any of you guys out there are looking for a buddy to hang out with and watch the game Ryker may be your boy. While he likes everybody Ryker is a real &ldquoguy's guy&rdquo and absolutely &ldquolights up&rdquo when men pay attention to him.Rescued from the animal shelter in Alamance County weighing only 64 lbs Ryker is a big boy and will weigh in around 100+ lbs. when he gets up to his best weight. Moderately active he likes nothing better than to just hang out with his people although he is always up for a run or bike ride if invited. With a GSD streak a mile wide a very curious nature and being a very smart fellow Ryker will need an experienced GSD savvy owner or he will take over the household. He gets along fine with many dogs but will not back down from a challenge once another dog has &ldquothrown down the gauntlet&rdquo. As the self appointed small furry animal &ldquopatrol officer&rdquo he has been known to jump through a screened first floor window and try to climb an eight foot section of privacy fence in the pursuit of his job. He is learning &ldquoleave it&rdquo but sometimes can't quite bring himself to ignore the potential for a good chase and will not be placed in a home with cats.Housebroken and crate trained Ryker is comfortable in the house and can be left alone free roam as long as you don't mind him occasionally sneaking a nap on the sofa or the bed. He is a social fellow and loves trips to Petsmart and other local businesses where he allows everyone that he meets to pet him.Ryker is a sweet loving boy who will be totally devoted to a pack leader who earns his respect when he settles into his new home. He has responded very well to positive obedience training and it is imperative that his new owner continue this to give Ryker the stability that he needs and establish boundaries. He is heart worm positive but will be treated in the near future.
