Rivers is the offspring of a yellow Lab (Mom) and German Shepherd / Husky mix (Dad), according to her previous owners. We got her just over a month ago from a family in Wilmington, NC that was giving her away. I took her in to save her, worried she was going to be dumped at the shelter. My heart was in the right place. And it was working wonderfully up until this week. Due to a family member's sudden health problems, work, school, and children, I am unable to provide for Rivers as she needs and deserves.
She has been the best puppy I’ve ever had. Period. She’s smart, sweet, goofy, loyal, incredibly bonded to me, and has never been left alone—not even once. She rides in the truck with me, lays at my feet while I work, follows me from room to room, and genuinely tries to please. She adores belly rubs, long naps, big hikes/runs, tug and puzzle toys. She’s a beautiful dog with so much potential. I have to make this clear - she has done NOTHING wrong. She is seriously the most precious, beautiful soul.
She is a high-drive, working-breed puppy. She barks (and loudly). She needs structure, consistent training, and a mentally stimulating routine. She’s not aggressive—never has been with any dogs, kids or people - just intense with her play. She has a HIGH PREY DRIVE - not good with cats or chickens - has never hurt them, but is not safe around them alone. She craves engagement and needs more than what I can give her now.
• Knows sit, lie down, working on stay, roll & high 5, loves belly rubs more than anything, walks well on a leash, mostly potty trained but is experiencing a slight regression as she enters 4 months
• Very vocal—she barks for attention and is used to being with her person constantly
She comes with Large Breed puppy food, a brand new puzzle toy, XL wire dog crate with a tray, brand new groomer’s Black Dog shampoo, brand new brushes and a dremel and nail clippers, tons of toys (she is a big chewer and always wants to chew something), 2 collars, a leash, any treats she has left, dog bags, Water/food bowls, and anything else I have left like calming treats, flea treatment, etc. She was also just given her second round of dewormer.
