~7 years old. Good with older considerate children large and small dogs and cats. Good for seniors/elderly. Apartment appropriate.OTTO was roaming on a country road on Christmas Day. My local shelter picked him up and gave him a warm bed. He was wearing a bright red leash with no identity. The shelter called all the local vets and posted him but no response. I was called because the officers did not want to euthanize this noble dog. That is the shelter's policy when a dog is sick. OTTO is almost blind.I named him OTTO which means wealth in German because he gives a wealth of love and respect. He mingled with my German Shepherds as if he had always been here. We all walked around the farm and OTTO did not falter. By the third day OTTO was running and kicking up his heels when in the pasture. Now OTTO will need your guidance. He hears and feels my foot steps and prefers to follow me instead of walking beside me. OTTO told me gently and I understood.OTTO will require drops in his eyes daily and ointment during the day. He suffers from dry eyes which has caused inflammation to his lens. He likes a warm cloth over his eyes in order to clean them. His eyes are sensitive and I bathe them gently. If you are that special person or family who would give leadership and kindness OTTO would reciprocate. He is meek but such a fine fellow. OTTO loves attention but he is not pushy. He sleeps on a pallet in my bedroom. He is healthy and all the walking he is getting is showing. OTTO is becoming a handsome lean German Shepherd.
