Meet Nora!
Nora is a beautiful 2-year-old German Shepherd who has already shown remarkable resilience. She came into the shelter in heartbreaking condition—emaciated and covered in fleas. Thanks to good care, she’s now gaining weight and strength each day, and she’s ready for her fresh start.
Personality & Temperament:
Nora is outgoing, affectionate, and loves meeting people. She leans into attention, thrives on human contact, and greets new friends with calm curiosity rather than jumping. She’s energetic and playful, still learning her leash manners, but eager to please—especially when treats are involved.
With Other Animals:
When introduced to other dogs, Nora was relaxed and appropriate, greeting politely before turning her attention back to people. She would likely do best in a home with another medium-to-large dog to help show her the ropes. She did well in toy and food tests, showing no resource guarding tendencies. Because she was originally found chasing chickens and ducks, she should not live with small animals.
Training & Manners:
Nora already knows some basics and is very food-motivated, making her a wonderful candidate for further training. She takes treats a bit roughly at first but quickly improved with gentle correction. With consistent guidance, she’ll blossom into a well-mannered companion.
Ideal Home:
This sweet girl would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard and another dog companion. She’s very people-oriented and will do best with someone who can give her structure, exercise, and plenty of love.
Why Nora?
Despite a rough start, Nora has kept her gentle, happy spirit intact. She’s ready to leave her past behind and become a loyal, loving family member.
