I've found my furever family!

(1-2 yr old) Good with Dogs and Kids. Cats and small dogs TBDHi! My name is Meeko and I am a new addition to the rescue. Unfortunately I was dropped off in a night deposit box at a shelter but the shelter folks thought that I was so sweet that something needed to be done to rescue me! In steps that wonderful organization called GSRA! Life has not been the same since! I am about a 1-2 yr old beautiful black and red GSD mix. My foster mom says that I am a wonderfully sweet and gentle natured pup. I get along well with other dogs and children love my people am 100% crate and house trained and I amlearning basic obedience commands. I know how to sit lay down leave it walk very well on a leash if I must say so myself sit for my food patiently and wait my turn know how to give you my paw and am learning how to stay. This is only in a week in my foster home so I am a smartboy! I love food so it is easy to motivate me with atreat and gentle guidance. I want nothing more than to be with my people so I will follow you around.I found the shelter to be stressful and I am now starting to relax and know that I will be fed loved and cared for. Loud barking makes me a little nervous but I just find peace in my den or crate as my foster mom calls it. I sleep in there at night with the door open but have free roam. I'm sure as time goes on and I feel more settled I will lay by my owners side on a bed or floor but for now the crate rocks! I am up to date on all my shots microchipped neutered and heart worm negative!Note from foster mom:Meeko means little one with a big heart" and that is exactly what this boy is. He is a gentle very sweet dog who wants nothing more than to please and be near his owner. He is a sensitive dog and gets slightly nervous with new situations. He will need a leader who can expose him to a variety of situations with gentle guidance to help build his confidence. He corrects easily with gentle correction. He gets along well with my 2 GSD's but his main focus is his people. He is extremely gentle around children. Meeko is starting to come out of his shell more and more each day and will develop into a self assured dog with guidance. He would benefit from another laid back canine companion to help show him the ropes. He is going to develop into a stellar dog and would love to be by your side during all your endeavors. He may be a mixed GSD but he has the heart and devotion of a true GSD. Are you the one for this truely special dog? "
