MEEKA ~9years old. Good with older considerate children good with large dogs apartment appropriate. Not good with small dogs and not good with cats. GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only It's honestly hard not to adore Meeka girl. She is a very kind sweet-natured adaptable nine-year old girl who has a fabulous sense of humor and just loves having fun!!Meeka is house trained crate-trained and walks like a lady when wearing her gentle-leader harness.Meeka loves riding in the car and is a regular at the local Starbucks drive through. She also likes to accompany her foster Mama to exercise workouts at the local park (she hasn't mastered the jumping jacks but she's a natural at the "down dog" yoga stretch!!). Honestly Meeka is the kind of girl who is up for any adventure - just as long as she can be by your side.Meeka is looking for a loving forever home where she can be the Queen of her castle. Meeka adores her humans and is extremely playful and affectionate. She simply melts when she is brushed patted hugged or kissed. As long as you are touching her she is happy. She has no concept of her size and will insist that she is a perfect lap dog all 85lbs of her. Meeka loves being the center of attention but she has also learned to share the love. She is currently sharing her foster home with 5 other dogs and gets along with all of them very well. However as with everything Meeka does she plays with intensity! Therefore she needs a canine friend who can match her playstyle and not be offended byfull body tackles. Meeka was originally thought to be dog-aggressive however with careful introductions lots of guidance and even more patience on the part of her canine foster siblings it has become clear that she actually likes the company of other dogs. Now that all said I am pretty sure that Meeka would not mind at all if she was an only dog - not having to share cuddles toys or cookies with another dog is something I think Meeka could get used to. Talking of toys Meeka LOVES them. She has about 5 favorite babies and she knows them all by name. She will carry them around throw them in the air and snuggle with them but she never tears them apart. She also loves chewing on cow hooves and bones but she has never chewed on something she isn't supposed to.Meeka would excel in a forever home where her people are home more often than they aren't. When work deadlines demand it she is very good about hanging out at home on her own up to 11 hrs. However she is such a bonded girl that I know she would much rather spend the majority of her time with her human right by her side. When we do have to go out Meeka is perfectly fine either in or out of her crate. Meeka loves her yard and enjoys going outside and sitting in the sunshine. A yard isn't a necessity though - just as long as her human realizes that she has a fair amount of energy and needs at least a couple of long walks each day to feel settled.Meeka can bea little anxious in new environments and she can be a bit barky when she sees other dogs. Meeka is NOT a dog park kind of girl - she would feel like she needed to control everything and that wouldn't be good for anyone!Other than that though she loves going out and about and meeting new people so she makes a great date for a coffee break or lunch at a dog friendly cafe. What do you think? Could Meeka be the Queen of your castle???
