I've found my furever family!

~3 years old. Good with older considerate children and dogs. Cats TBD. Meet Miss Maggie May a beautiful female German Shepherd Dog. She's a big girl at Over 100 Pounds. We asked her age but she said you never ask a lady her age. Best guess is Maggie is between two and four years old. Maggie was picked up by Animal Control roaming the streets. Her future did not look very promising as the local shelter does not adopt out heartworm positive dogs. But they gave GSRA a call and another noble German Shepherd Dog was saved to bring love and joy into someone's life. The veterinarian said that Maggie recently had a litter of pups. In fact it appears that producing pups may have been Maggie's full time job. I told Maggie that life was behind her now. We would give her a loving foster home get her spayed get rid of those heartworms and find her a forever home. When Maggie arrived at our home she did not know any basic commands was very apprehensive if your reached for her collar and leery of her leash. But Maggie is a very smart girl and a fast learner. It didn't take her long at all to learn there is nothing better than attention and a good belly rub. She is learning her basic commands and is coming to realize that the leash just means it is time for a walk. In fact she behaves very well on her leash. Maggie quickly showed she could be trusted in the house (no accidents thus far) and gets along with our two other German Shepherds so we give Maggie free reign in the house. She is good around our 4 year old granddaughter but given her anxiety about someone reaching for her collar a home with older children would probably be best. Maggie is not a barker but after she decided this is her home and family she will definitely let you know if someone is approaching the door. Maggie is what they call a velcro dog she is always by your side. Just look at that face. Just don't look too long if you're not ready for a beautiful girl in your life because you will be singing as the song says Oh Maggie I wished I'd never seen your face...""
