~10 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD.A diamond in the rough...that was my first thought when I saw Maggie at the shelter. She had been dumped at a local high kill facility by someone who said he just did not want to be bothered" with her anymore. Well he obviously hadn't "bothered" much in a while..... Maggie was thin filthy stinky covered in fleas and missing most of the fur on her rump and rear legs. Her spirit was broken. We went to see her as we knew that her chances of being adopted from the shelter were pretty slim in her condition and with her age. Maggie came out and was so gentle. She was unsure of what was going on but was being very sweet. She looked up with those big soulful eyes...pleading for a chance. We told her don't worry you are going to be a GSRA girl now.Fast forward a couple of months....good food some antibiotics a few good baths and a whole lot of love and Maggie looks fabulous! Maggie is a beautiful older sheppie. The vet estimates that she is approximately 10 years old. She is a healthy girl too!! Maggie has a little bit of cloudiness in her eyes but it does not seem to bother her. Maggie has the most wonderful temparment!! It only took her a couple of days to come out of her shell and start interacting. She got the sparkle back in her eyes!! Maggie loves to follow you everywhere and just wants to be near her people. She loves the tennis ball too and will happily bounce after it and prance around with it. (We try to take it easy with her...she is happy to chase the ball every time you throw it so her humans have to know when to say "when"!) Maggie is very friendly and will do anything for a treat!! She has a nose for treats!! Maggie integrated herself into the resident pack of dogs right aw ay...she has no problem being part of a group. She is non-destructive and content to run and play for a bit and then come and take a nap beside you. Maggie rides well in the car and loves to go for walks and check out all the new surroundings. Maggie is a wonderful girl looking for her special family to spend her golden years with. She is such a sweet and gentle soul...you can't help but fall in love with her!!"
