LUNA ~6 years old. Good with dogs and kids. Not good with cats.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only.&ldquoHi I'm Luna! I am the sweetest cuddle-buddy you could ever hope to meet! I'm a GSRA pup twice over! I got adopted as a puppy and then my adopted siblings and I lived for 6 years with a family who loved us. But then they developed some health problems and couldn't care for us anymore so they returned me to GSRA to help me find a new family to love. I'm used to a quieter lifestyle with lots of snuggle time! I lived in a multi-dog household and I get along well with all other dogs large or small. I love to go on walks and can get frisky and play with other dogs sometimes but my exercise needs are pretty modest. I would do best with a fenced yard but I'm a pretty good digger and have been known to set out on neighborhood explores on my own from time to time (oopsie!) so now people tend to keep an eye on me when I'm outside. Actually that's ok with me as I would just as soon be inside hanging out with the people I love. I just want to get along so I will adjust quickly and easily to pretty much any new house rules as long as you're consistent with them. I'm not hard-headed or particularly intense like some GSDs I've met. I'm a little shy&mdashnot really very protective and I'm not much of a barker. I'm smart and I'm quick to internalize correction of any kind but I haven't heard &ldquoNO&rdquo very often so it sometimes hurts my feelings and I can be a little pouty. But I'm a lover at heart so I'm quick to make up! I'm comfortable sleeping in a crate and sometimes I'll just go there when I need a little time to myself. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I can't wait to find a new family to love&mdashI have so much love to give! I can't wait to meet you!&rdquoLuna has never known anything other than a loving environment. She has always been well cared for and she has been a bit indulged as well. At 80lbs she is a powerful girl and can be a bit impulsive. Her leash manners are pretty good when on a prong-collar but she is headstrong without one. She has been known to charge open doors and if she gets free &lsquokeep away' is the order of the day! She is the sweetest girl you could ever hope to meet but after years in a wonderful home she is a bit guarded and reserved about her new situation. She is not reactive to other dogs and plays well with our 3yr-old male GSD though she can be a bit of a tease and a provocateur as she jockeys for status in the household. She is very smart and resourceful! It took less than a day for her to demonstrate that she can open screen doors from either side and let herself in and out of the house as she chooses (who needs a dog door?!!) She would be happiest in a home where she gets lots of cuddle-time moderate exercise to help her regain her girlish figure and some firm structure and training to help her with her impulsivity. She is very comfortable in a crate (which is where she sleeps as a foster) and separation anxiety is not an issue for her. She would do well as an only dog or in a multi-dog household so long as she gets lots of love and attention.
