(1 1/2 years) Good with dogs and kids small dogs and cats TBD. Need companion animalUpdate 12-27-10Kyla is a sweet girl and very friendly and entertaining. She loves the company of other dogs and seems unhappy and a bit insecure without another dog around. For this reason I feel it will be best to place Kyla in a home with another friendly dog as opposed to a home where she would have to be an only dog.Well hello there!!! My name is Kyla and I am a sweet fun loving young girl in search of a family. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a young girl probably between 1-2 years old. I am a bit on the petite side and weigh about 51-60 Pounds (but could use a few more). My foster mom says I act like a puppy. What can I say I am absolutely delighted with life!! You see I found myself in a shelter in Columbia SC when I was picked up as a stray. It was a scary place. I also got very sick while I was there. GSRA found out about my plight and came to get me. I have found out what it means to be loved and cared for and am ever so grateful. I am a very affectionate girl. I love giving kisses and climbing into your lap for some hugs. I have a lot of energy and love to run and play. However I also know how to be calm in the house. I am very eager to learn and try hard to do the right thing. I am house trained and crate trained. I love people of all shapes and sizes!! I also love love love to play with other dogs!! I will need a fenced yard as I need to be able to run around and spend some of my energy. I am very fast and athletic. My doggie friends are showing me how to play ball too and I am having a lot of fun with that. Won't you please consider meeting me?? My enthusiasm and happiness is contagious and I guarantee I will put a smile on your face!!From Foster Mom:Kyla is a total sweetheart. She has obviously had a rough start to her young life but you would never know it!! She is just the happiest little dog always wagging her tail and looking for attention. She has beautiful dark coloring and very expressive eyes. Kyla needs a family that will spend a lot of time with her and also be able to ensure that she gets plenty of exercise. She has a ton of energy! However if she gets to run around for 30-40 minutes a few times a day she is much calmer in the house. Kyla was very emaciated when she came into rescue and had also come down with pneumonia. She has a great spirit and between the medications and many meals she has made a remarkable recovery. (She has put on 10-20 Pounds in just over 3 weeks). Kyla has some damage to her ears. She was apparently attacked by another animal sometime in the past and had the tips of both ears torn off. They are a bit tattered in appearance but it only adds to her character. Her lovin g demeanor and temperament is infectious She is the kind of dog that will have you constantly laughing at her silly antics. Kyla has a great willingness to please but definitely needs some training. She is young and has not had much direction. She is learning sit and is very food motivated so training should not be too difficult. She is a bit mouthy in a playful way: she loves to grab at your sleeves to get your attention. She is very good in the house but will attempt to chew on things just for fun so crating is a must when you are not home. (Again she is a puppy at heart so she should grow out of this). Kyla loves to play with other dogs and would do best in a home with another friendly and energetic doggie friend to show her the ropes! Kyla is going to be a great and loyal addition to some lucky family.
