~10 years old. Good with respectful children and dogs. Cats TBD.This is King! He is a striking soon to be 11 year old (August 17th) black and silver/tan GSD currently weighing 85 to 81-90 Pounds. King is a sweet gentle and very affectionate boy. He certainly does not behave like a dog of his age as he is still moderately active and playful. King has been primarily an outside dog since 2006 but it is clear that this guy has indoor experience and prefers being where the family is. King has been a very lonely GSD since his elderly owner became ill and passed away. It is unknown how long he was in a fenced back yard with no attention so he wants all he can get. He needs an experienced calm attentive and patient parent (preferably male) that he can cling to. This big guy needs someone that can devote a lot of time to him. He is very intelligent and extremely food motivated making him a good candidate for some gentle obedience training. King does well in the house uncrated no destruction counter surfing or toileting. When he needs to relieve himself he will let you know. He has been left alone for several hours with no accidents or mischief.King will respond to his name unless he is intensely focused but a hand clap or sharp whistle will turn his attention. He knows some basic commands: come sit down stay/wait get a drink and give the paw. King walks well on leash with gentle correction and loves to ride in the car. He also loves his orange rubber football squeeze toy and will play endlessly with you. King does not have much history with other dogs or cats so caution is advised with small animals (squirrels beware!). He is known to be very good with respectful children. King is not vocal and the background for that reason is a mystery.King has been well vetted to include neuter senior panel UTD on all vaccines and he is heartworm negative. Dr. Coble believes that King has several good quality years ahead given his current health and condition including teeth. There is evidence of aging hips that will benefit from proper exercise and veterinary care. King is truly an outstanding GSD and quite a specimen of this noble breed. He turns heads everywhere he goes. This stunning boy deserves all the love attention and comfort he can get at this stage in his life and he will be a loyal companion.
