I've found my furever family!

(2 yrs old) Good with dogs large and small older considerate kids and cats.Hiya! Thanks for checking out my newest foster Kane. Isn't he beautiful? That's inside and out!! Kane is an extraordinary boy. He's only been in Rescue for about 2 months now and during that short time he has been with 3 different Fosters. Nooooooo not because he's been any trouble just circumstances with us humans and our schedules. I am Foster number 2 and his main Foster. I think it's incredible how Kane was able to be bounced around into completely different homes with different families and different fur-kids yet still managed to acclimate very easily. All that at 2 yrs old!Please check back to see what his other Foster Mom's have to say about him. For now I'll give you my version..Love Love Love this Dog!!! Kane came into our home which houses 5 dogs 6 cats and 2 teenagers with friends who come and go all the time. No problemo. He was just happy to be here. He had no interest in causing any trouble with my pack and he was a little afraid of my very dog-savy cats. It took him no time at all to settle in and get familiar with our routine. He has excellent house-manners. He is house-broke doesn't counter-surf dumpster-dive or chew inappropriately. I wish I could say the same thing about my own personal dogs :^) He has a nice deep bark but only uses it to alert us if someone is coming up the driveway. Kane walks well on a leash he loves to swim knows how to fetch and loves to tear up his stuffed animals. He responds well to gentle but firm correction. We are working on some basic obedience and manners. He is super-smart and will most likely be the star of an obedience training class.Now we all know that nobody is perfect. Same goes for Kane. I think that because of all his moving around in his young life he has a hard time being separated from his humans whom he becomes so bonded with. It's called Separation Anxiety. I think in a stable environment he may be able to overcome this with time and patience. I always crate him when I leave the house for his safety and the safety of my sofa and drywall. Then I come back all is fine let him out and we go on with our lives.Alright then-- Kane is a wonderful dog. He makes me laugh every single day with his silliness and goofiness and happy-go-lucky demeanor. He'll do the same for you. Who's going to be the Lucky One to take him home?From Kane's Friend:Kane is a great boy with huge potential. He's a bit underweight right now and may grow to be an 85-95lb dog. He has a beautiful shiny coat classic markings/color and is very long and has a large head. He's a bit shy in new situations but opens up pretty quickly for a GSD. Kane's very affectionate and loyal to people he knows. Kane's perfectly behaved inside the house (no jumping counter surfing barking unless UPS runs up and rings the bell) and he knows how to use the dog door. He plays really well outside with people and other dogs. He's crate trained and goes in/comes out with no fuss. He's a real joy first thing in the morning very happy and ready to play outside before breakfast. Kane is SMART and eager to please. He's a strong GSD who has great potential in a home with experienced GSD owners who understand the breed and can give him the love training and exercise he needs to develop his potential. Update- Kane has been here for a little over a month now and is doing so Great! He's a Dream-boat! He remains perfectly behaved in the house and he's making progress with his sep. anxiety. He crates very easily and peacefully. I think his ideal home would be withsomeone who works from home or has flexible hours. All Kane wants is to be with his humans. Because it's summer and I have busy teenagers Kane has been shuttled around to3 different GSRA volunteers while I've been out of town. Everyone! says the Same thing about him. If our situations were different we'd love to keepKane for ourselves!He truly is a Very Special Boy who's going to be that Special family to take him home??
