HONEYSUCKLE ~5 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Not good with cats.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC onlyGreetings! Miss Honeysuckle (Honey for short) checking in here... hoping you will read about my outstanding personality and see if I am a fit for your family. Let me tell you a bit about the basics first! I am a stunning sable girl. I am about 5 years old (best guess) and I weigh about 75 lbs. I am a very people friendly girl...I love everybody! I am very eager for attention and love affection. Once I get to know you I will happily flip over for a belly rub! I am a pretty happy girl... life is good when I get to hang out with my people...that is my job and I do it very well. I love to be out in the yard with my person and will run around and do the "perimeter" check as well as supervise any outdoor projects that you have going on. When we go back in the house I am perfectly happy chilling out on a dog bed or just supervising your indoor activities. I am always watching and listening for my people...If you call me I come running!!Not much is known about my past...I was picked up as a stray and ended up in a rural shelter. I quickly became a shelter favorite due to my outgoing personality.I am a very smart girl and also a very strong girl! I will need an experienced handler and someone who is willing to walk me with a prong collar. I am very compliant and respectful of the prong collar.I really have a strong desire to please my people. I take correction fairly easily and become quite submissive most of the time if you need to raise your voice at me. I have a lot of love to give and I don't really want to share with other dogs...I want my people to be as devoted to me as I am to them! My foster mom says I am a "dominant" female and would probably do best as an only pet. I am perfectly fine with that! I am smart devoted well mannered and affectionate...why would you need another critter if you had me?? My foster mom has taken me to work a few times...that is a lot of fun! There is a feral colony of cats there....I was so anxious to chase them but alas my foster mom said no. I will need a kitty free home. Squirrels are still fair game!Ideally I would like a home with a fenced yard and a human that is home a lot of the time. I am a medium energy girl. I enjoy a good walk or a bit of playtime in the yard but I am most happy when I am relaxing in the house with my people. I am a quiet girl and do not bark much. I am house broken and crate trained. So what to you say? Am I the one you have been waiting for??PS...I am almost totally healthy....I do have heartworms and am hoping to start treatment for this in mid September so I should be clear near the end of October.Thank you for reading my story! Hoping to meet you soon!
