(1-1 1/2 yrs) God with dogs cats and kids. Needs a companion animalHave you dreamed about owning a GSD? Have you longed to walk down the street and have people point and stare at the gorgeous dog on the end of your leash? Do you have a dog buddy right now who is pining for a friendly girl to play with? If you answered &quotyes&quot to any of these questions then look no further. Gypsy is your girl!Gypsy is one of the sweetest and most fun-loving girls you'll ever meet! Gypsy came into the rescue after her adoptive parents had to go into a nursing home. The volunteer who did her temperament assessment proclaimed Gypsy as being one of the most beautiful and well-balanced dogs she had ever had the pleasure of assessing. Since having her come to my home for fostering I have to say I agree. Gypsy is one of those dogs that is simply awesome! She gets along great with dogs cats children and people and all she really wants to do is play and get love in that order too! She's still a youngster - we guesstimate her to be about 1 to 1 &frac12 years old - so she's got plenty of energy and loves to play. For this reason Gypsy will need an active canine sibling that can keep her going. At my house her favorite game is to get her canine siblings to chase her around in circles in the yard. She also loves the water! We have a plastic baby pool and she is always in it (who can blame her with the heat we are experiencing??). Gypsy has already been spayed she is up to date on vaccines and she is heartworm negative! She is crate and house trained and walks pretty well on a leash. Gypsy loves to lay on the couch with you and if you like GSD-sized teddy bears she a wonderful sleeping partner However she also understands that not everyone has room for a big dog in their bed and so in those cases she is happy to sleep on the floor next to the bed. The only home Gypsy probably wouldn't do well in is an apartment or townhouse setting. Although she is good about going into her crate she can be very vocal (barking) when I leave her in the crate in the morning - something near by neighbors might not like. And besides she really does need a large yard in which to run so for that reason also she wouldn't suit living in an apartment or town home. The only other thing you have to be aware of with Gyspy is that she is a little bit of a chewer when left alone unattended. We think she might have missed out on her puppyhood and so is reliving it now :) Now for the most part she only chews her toys... but leave those shoes out or a blanket on the couch and you might not have a lot leftover when she gets done with it! In this respect she could benefit from an obedience class - just like a lot of the other rescue dogs - as it would smooth out the very few rough edges she has and also be a wonderful way for you to bond with this sweet girl. Besides she is so smart and such a looker that you'd both be the star of the class!!So go ahead fill out that application and get ready to meet the dog of your dreams - Gypsy!
