(~2 years old) Good with Older Kids and Dogs. Cats - Not recommendedGracie is a super sweet girl turned into the local shelter because her owners were no longer allowed to keep her. Gracie is in the 3ish year old range and just a doll when I first got her she was very nervous and timid so much so that she almost got a new name Nervous Nelly! But over the next week or so Gracie got into a routine and was getting some exercise playing with her foster siblings and began to calm down a bit. She is still the type of dog that is going to be one step behind you or under you though and she loves to give kisses. This has become an issue with smaller children because Gracie doesn't understand &ldquomoderation&rdquo she tends to get very excited in situations with a lot of people and children and has a hard time relaxing. She tries to kiss everyone and you can imagine a 2 year old doesn't stand a chance with a 70lbs dog licking his or her face and may get knocked over or scared and upset so we'd like to place her in a home without young children children over the age of 10 or so should be fine. Gracie really loves people I've never seen her dislike ANYONE at all she seems to thrive on that human attention and just can't get enough.Gracie also loves other dogs and would be best with a companion close to her size she runs and plays and hasn't met a dog she didn't like. She really acts more like a 1 year old then a 2-3 year old. I tell you this because she's going to need some patience and obedience training plus a lot of exercise remember a tired dog is a good dog ) She is ok with cats to a point she may chase or try to lick them to death so it's probably best she be in a cat free home. She is house and crate trained and still likes to chew she loves her stuffed toys and hooves and would be in heaven if you could keep her supplied in them. In fact I think she favors beanie babies! One of Gracie's favorite things is cuddling with mom on the couch she would love to cuddle in bed too but we had to draw the line somewhere let's face it not everyone is a fan of having dogs in their beds so it's best not to let her get used to it. She also LOVES to play in the water and mud it is hilarious to watch but be forewarned towel her off before she comes in the house )I really think she prefers the mud hole to her baby pool she's even taught her foster brother how to roll in the mud how fun! Gracie is up to date on her vaccines and spayed but unfortunately is also positive for heartworms. No worries though we will get her treated soon and can even do it after her adoption.Gracie is just an all around great girl and doesn't have a mean bone in her body she's as happy playing with other dogs as she is loving on her humans. She has a little more energy than some dogs but with a lot of love and exercise she'll be a great companion. She rides in a car great and is very outgoing and social she could use some work on a leash as she gets excited and likes to pull but the right type of collar helps a lot. So what do you think are you up for a girl with a lot of love to give??
