Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
Gemma ~5 months old. Good with dogs. TBD if good with kids and cats. Needs companion animal.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only.Introducing this cute fuzzy little nugget that will greet you with a full body wiggle. Gemma is a rough and tumble girl power baby. She holds her own with the larger dogs in her foster home and has no problem telling them off if they're a little too rough. She can also entertain herself calmly in the house. Gemma's a little shy with new people and dogs initially but warms up quickly. She's currently living in a very busy foster home with 5 other dogs 4 of which are adult GSDs. She's crate trained sleeps through the night almost house trained &ndash just needs frequent trips outside if she's up and about and reminded to potty before she comes back in. She's good with all dogs and is respectful of senior dogs that don't want to play. She likes to play with toys and chew on bones or shoes &ndash she's teething so anything goes. Gemma's a good car rider and gaining confidence on her daily leash walks. She's a happy wiggly baby. Gemma already knows to sit on command charge to her crate like a racehorse to get a treat/meal you will frequently find her sitting real pretty head tilt in full effect in her crate staring at you trying to get an extra treat &ndash she's a growing girl who needs to EAT!! Gemma is also learning to wait at the door until she's instructed to come in &ndash it's hard she's afraid of missing out on something but she improves every day. She loves to explore in the yard and then snuggle on the couch for a nap. In her forever home Gemma will need a physical playing companion dog and a fenced yard. She's young enough to train to live with cats but will not be placed in a cat only home. Gemma can't wait to meet you and taste your yummy treat offering.PLEASE NOTE: It is GSRA policy that we do not adopt dogs under the age of 1 year to families with children under the age of 8 years old.
