~ 1 year old. Good with older considerate children and dogs. Cats TBD.FRANCO&ldquoGood Boy&rdquo. &ldquoFull of Energy Boy&rdquo. &ldquoBoy Who Doesn't Know What Gentle Means&rdquo. &ldquoBoy Who Wants a Family That Will Give Him Love & Affection&rdquo. &ldquoBoy Who Needs a Strong Leader That Will Provide Discipline&rdquo. Each of these &ldquoBoys&rdquo is my boy Franco.Franco is a 1-year-old stray that was picked up in Person County. We have no idea what his previous life consisted of. Franco knew &ldquosit&rdquo when he came to my house but that's about all he knew. I doubt he had ever spent any time inside & I am positive that he had never been on a leash. Initially Franco thought my house was a racetrack &ndash using the sofas and coffee tables as hurdles and trampolines. Trying to walk him was like trying to walk a bucking bronco. However like the smart and eager-to-please GSD that he is Franco gets better each day & is learning what it means to be a house dog and to follow the lead and routine of my 3 other GSDs. Since introducing him to a training collar Franco has been walking better on leash but he is still a work in progress. In some ways Franco is a typical GSD: he loves people & is very smart learning something new every day. Franco now eats & sleeps in the crate and is accepting of this time in his &ldquoden&rdquo. More than anything though Franco enjoys the freedom of the fenced in backyard. When I first got him home all he did was run and run and run and run. Franco is like the Energizer Bunny when it comes to his energy level- daily walks are not going to be enough to wear him out. And if he doesn't get enough exercise watch out! At the very least Franco will pace at night &ndash at the very worst well you know what they say about bored GSDs finding their own entertainment!During the day while I am at work Franco is either in the kennel with my GSD Katie or in the bathroom with my GSD Molly (note: I don't know what my Molly has told him or done to him but when I get home Franco is always in the bathtub!).Although he had little to no doggie manners when he arrived after a couple of weeks with my 3 GSDs Franco's come a long way and is getting along very well with his canine sisters. However we're not sure how Franco does with small children small dogs or cats but once we get to know him more we will test these things out. My guess is that with his energy level and lack of manners he would not do well with small children or smaller animals. I doubt he has a mean bone in his body but his clumsiness and over exuberance could accidentally hurt someone smaller than him.Are you looking for a beautiful young &ldquoBoy&rdquo to go along with your very active lifestyle? If so why don't you consider my boy Franco?
