~4-5 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD. Good for seniors/elderlySometimes life is not fair. Sometimes you get overlooked for things that are beyond your control. But sometimes there is a reason for it and things work out better than you expected. Such is the story of Fiona. You see Fiona was picked up as a stray and ended up in a high kill rural shelter through no fault of her own. Unfortunately it looked like Fiona might become a victim of BDS - Black Dog Syndrome. Black dogs have a much harder time getting adopted especially from shelters. They are hard to get good pictures of in the dim shelter environments and many people don't even notice them. Fiona was a shelter favorite but even with her sweet demeanor nobody seemed even the slightest bit interested in her. GSRA found out about her and once we met her we knew we had to help her. Fiona is an absolutely wonderful girl!!Fiona is a stunningly beautiful solid black shepherd with a very very soft coat. She is a more compact shepherd and weighs 51-60 Pounds. The vet estimates her at 4-5 years old. Fiona is stunning girl her pictures do not do her justice. Her personality is phenomenal. Fiona is the most gentle calm and loving dog. I cannot begin to express how sweet she is. Fiona is a quiet girl who loves to sit beside you and lean on you for a soft pet or head rub. Sometimes she just likes to lean on you just to be near and will often sit with her paws on your feet. Fiona is calm in the house and is very easy going. She is most happy with a soft bed and a nyla-bone to chew on! She has recently discovered the tennis ball and will prance around the yard and carry it with her tail wagging. Fiona walks nicely on a leash and loves her crate. She takes treats gently. Fiona is fine with all the resident dogs and is quite passive. She does not seem to inclined to play or rough house with them...she is more content to happily co-exist. Fiona is non-destructive and is perfectly fine being left alone in the house without being crated. She also rides very well in the car.Fiona is about as nice a dog as you will find. She is spayed and has recently completed HW treatment.
