COWBOY ~4 years old. Good with dogs and cats. Kids TBD. Requires a fenced yard that is not climbable.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only. MUST CATCH THAT SQUIRRELL!!!! Oh wait I need to introduce myself. I'm Cowboy and my foster mama says I'm a very well-behaved boy at least until I see those furry tree leapers then I turn into Superman who can run as fast as the wind and parkour my way over a climbable fence in hot pursuit of those intruders. I take my job of protecting my yard very seriously I'm very disappointed in the amateurish way my GSD foster brother and sister guard. They let those critters run all over the yard and barely even pretend to chase them it's just sad but have no fear Cowboy will show them how to do it. When my spidey senses tell me they're all gone I transform in the calm and well-mannered Peter Parker. So let me tell you a little bit about myself I'm about 4 years old love to run play with toys play with my foster brothers and sisters snuggle on the couch and go for a walk. I'm on the small side for a male GSD and some would say I need to lose a few pounds &ndash well don't we all! I'm pretty sure all my extra inches are from my beautiful shiny longish coat some people are just jealous of my handsomeness. So I ended up in puppy jail because my prior family didn't understand what special specimens of the canine world we GSDs are and the kind shelter people (who by the way ALL loved me and gave me a fabulous sendoff) contacted GSRA for help finding a family that would understand my needs. So here I am waiting for my perfect family to find me. I love people so don't be shy when you see me I'll give you a big full body wiggle and a kiss or two.Cowboy's Foster Mom:Cowboy is a very sweet guy who is pretty perfect as long as you don't have a chain link fenced yard. He will need a non-climbable fence in his forever home (privacy vinyl metal). He would do best with a family who has knowledge of the breed and will help him understand that he is not in-charge. Cowboy's smart and very trainable. He's a good leash walker knows basic commands a good car rider house trained crate trained and has been reliable so far free roaming although it has been on a limited basis. He's likely good with children as he doesn't mouth takes treats very gently and doesn't jump up. He has been cat tested and did well on the test but would need a dog savvy cat that will stand up to him if they run he will likely chase. He can be with or without other dogs in the home but if he is an only having his humans home more often than not would be preferred. Cowboy's infectious personality will capture your heart so don't delay in arranging to meet him.
