Bear is a sweet, loving boy that loves to play fetch and hide and seek with his toys. He’s a very good listener and will respond to sit, stay, down, speak, “kennel up”and “drop it” commands within the home or in the yard. He has been kennel trained since he was a puppy, and will enter immediately when given the command, however the crate must be reinforced because he has chewed/escaped from one before. He also does very well with getting a bath. While in his own territory, Bear is a great dog.
Unfortunately while Bear was young, he wasn’t properly socialized or trained and does not do well outside of the home. He is aggressive towards other dogs and barks at other people. As he’s aging, his aggression is getting more prevalent while going to the vet or boarding. While he is good now with my young child, I worry that his aggressive nature will come out and my child or he may be hurt.
Bear would make a great companion for someone who has a lot of space for him to roam or play, and who can give him the patience and love he deserves as he ages into seniority.
