Amaya (CL) is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA.
Amaya (recalls & responds to “Mia”) is about 9 months old. Intact female with spay date of October 17th.
She is very sweet but can get overstimulated easily and has a bit of insecurity in new environments and around new people which is expected for her breed and history.
She still has puppy energy and zoomies often. She is a high medium/high energy dog with natural prey drive as a GSD as well as protective traits.
She would benefit from a knowledgeable GSD handler that does NOT use force/fear due to her history & personality. But also able to establish respectful boundaries through protection & direction. She responds great to play, routine and guided activity.
She would benefit from a more mature, healthy, well regulated pack of other dogs if going to a home with other dogs. OR would thrive in a home with routine, direction and either work or sport related to her breed without other dogs. Slow introductions always recommended.
She was rambunctious, mouthy and attempted to take on a dominant role with dogs she doesn’t feel safe with. She would do best with more neutral, calm, and playful/friendly and active dogs.
She would NOT do well as an inside “couch lounging house dog”. She is VERY active, athletic and bonds hard with trusted handler/family and will go anywhere with you once trust is built.
