Meet Juno!
Juno is a young female German Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a bright future ahead of her. She was found abandoned along a rural roadside by a kind couple who took her in and contacted rescue. When she was first found, Juno was extremely underweight, but thanks to good care and plenty of meals, she has steadily gained weight and is now close to a healthy size. We expect her to reach about 45 pounds when fully grown and filled out.
Despite her rough start, Juno has proven to be an incredibly sweet and loving dog. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but her friendly nature quickly shines through. She has been wonderful with everyone she has met, including children, and is always gentle when taking treats or food.
Juno absolutely loves mealtime and eagerly races into her crate in anticipation of breakfast and dinner. She walks nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood, taking in all the interesting scents while happily greeting people and other dogs along the way.
One of Juno's favorite activities is playing with other dogs. She enjoys games of chase, wrestling, and generally having fun with canine friends, always playing appropriately and respectfully. She also spent a few weeks living with a cat in her finder's home and did very well. She does not appear to have a strong prey drive, making her a promising candidate for a home with a cat.
Inside the house, Juno is calm and settles nicely after exercise and playtime. She is crate trained and sleeps comfortably in her crate at night and whenever her foster family cannot supervise her. She is still learning house manners, but she is making excellent progress. Juno is eager to please, highly food motivated, and responds well to gentle correction, making her a joy to train.
Juno is looking for a family that will continue helping her build confidence and show her the love and security she deserves. In return, she will reward them with loyalty, affection, and a lifetime of companionship.
