Through no fault of his own, Furio is looking for a new home after his family experienced the sudden and heartbreaking loss of his owner, Eric, to aggressive cancer. This devastating loss has left his mom, Rachel, facing major life changes, including moving into a smaller, more manageable home and making the heartbreaking decision to rehome some of their animals. Furio is a loving, loyal boy who deserves a safe indoor home with a family who will give him the love, attention, exercise, and stability he needs to thrive.
Furio is a handsome mixed-breed boy who will turn 4 years old on August 19th. He is approximately 50% German Shepherd. Furio is a sweet, affectionate, people-loving dog who enjoys attention, belly rubs, car rides, and being around his people. He is good with kids, good around other dogs, good on a leash, and has no known aggression issues. He has mostly lived as an outside dog, but because he is so social and people-oriented, we are hoping his next family will make him an inside family dog where he can be included in daily life. With patience, routine, and basic crate training, we believe Furio can adjust well to indoor life and truly thrive in a loving home. Because of his breed mix, Furio would do best with an active family who can provide regular exercise, structure, and mental enrichment such as walks, playtime, training games, and enrichment toys. He recently received a clean bill of health, is up to date on vet care, is neutered, has no known health issues or dietary restrictions, and is not currently microchipped. His family will also send him with remaining heartworm medication and flea and tick prevention. Cat response unknown, recommended that future family is a cat free household.
