I'm ready for my new family!

Hi! My Name Is Leelee (CL)

I'm Available

Leelee (CL) is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA.

I have a beautiful 10 mo. old GSD female, Leelee, born on July 4th 2025 that I need to re-home. My wife and I have always had GSDs. In 2024 our 11 yr. old female GSD died, leaving our 11 year old male GSD (Sherman) and a 5 y/o female GSD (Haley). We were aware that Sherman would likely pass in the next few years due to age, and Haley would be lonely. So we purchased a GSD pup out of Virginia from a private owner (no papers, but clearly a pure GSD) to be Haley's companion after Sherman passed. We have always believed that our dogs should never be single dogs. We knew our GSDs have been adult dog-aggressive, but they have been tolerant of puppies in the past. Unfortunately, Haley and Sherman have rejected Leelee. Initially only Haley bullied her, attacking and biting her legs, leaving Leelee to hide in her cage or under the cars. At times they seem to get along, but the aggressiveness got worse. We had to take Leelee in for antibiotics and stitches for bites on her legs. We were hoping all would work out in time, but it's just not happening. Leelee needs to be rehomed.

Leelee is a beautiful black and tan American GSD with sweet, soft eyes & rigid ears. Very attentive but not overly reactive. Tracks everything with her eyes. Good guard dog; walks the perimeter and barks at strangers at the gate, but not overly aggressive. 69lbs. Thick solid frame; not fat, but you don't see ribs. Athletic. Energetic and bouncy and loves tennis balls outside. She's fast. Can keep up with the adult dogs, even if holding onto their tails. Loves to curl up with me on couch and will follow me anywhere I go inside or outside. Does have a sharp, loud bark. Not overly mouthy, but will chew on shoes. She will need "hard to destroy" toys (I get cheap ones at Goodwill for $2-$4). Loves tennis balls to chew, but loves chasing the other dogs even more than that. I can't say how she is around other dogs beyond my own. I think she will do very well with small children and likely other dogs who aren't overly aggressive. She is submissive to my other GSDs and will snuggle up to them if they are agreeable. She is jumpy but doesn't bite. She's 95% housebroken - accidents when menaced by the older dogs. Eats dry high protein dog food from Costco, treats, and table food.. Eats from a dog feeder and automatic waterer. Does not over-eat now that she feels food secure. She is familiar with a crate but prefers not to use. She has a dog door and often sleeps outside on porch with the other dogs if she feels like it – usually to be with the other dogs.

Leelee kind of needs a break. She will be a great family member and guardian with time to develop trust and her family bonds. She will do best in a family with with/without children and without overly dominant dogs while she grows into her natural confidence. She needs a new environment where she’s not being menaced and her loving personality can shine through. If you think Leelee might be a good fit for you and your family, please contact me.

Successful adopter will have a rehoming fee and need to have a current veterinarian and fenced in yard.
