My name is Dorie and I am a strikingly, beautiful young female that’s in search of a new family to spend my life with. I am approximately two years old, and I am on the taller side. I am between 70 and 75 pounds. I have a gorgeous black and tan coat. If size matters, I’m your girl!
A bit about me:
I am very smart, affectionate, and I have a decent bit of energy. I am very eager to please! I approach life with exuberance and enthusiasm! I love attention and affection. I am good with men, women and older children. I may not have my PhD, but I’m super smart and eager to learn. I know how to sit and I know how to lay down. I am working on being able to maintain these positions! I get super excited and I’m eager to bounce onto the next activity. I am extremely food motivated, so bring some Bojangles and we can have a great training session!
My ideal home:
I would love a family that would spend a lot of time with me. A 6-foot fence is on the top of my list. I love to run and play ball, and I will happily bring it back to you and drop it at your feet so you can throw it again! Fun fact: two balls make this game go a lot better. As mentioned above, I love attention, and I would really thrive and excel with a family that is willing to bring those delicious treats and spend a bit of time training with me every day.
I would love a family that will make me part of their activities and take me on walks or hiking or even just down to the local restaurants to sit outside and hang out while you have lunch (of course if you could slide a few fries my way that would be ideal). I can even help when you go to Home Depot to pick out supplies for home improvement projects. I will stick with you and supervise every step of the way. I don’t have thumbs so I’m not much help with the equipment, but I’m eager just to be there for emotional support
I need to be the only dog in the household. I have a lot of love to give and I need a lot of love and I don't want to share my humans with other four-legged critters. I am good in public with other dogs. I do not want to play with them, but I am calm on leash and can be in environments with other dogs without being disruptive. I’m a live and let live kind of girl
I love going for rides in the car! I enjoy going for walks. Foster mom says I still need a little bit of fine-tuning on my "walking" leash skills as I tend to pull, but we are working on it.
Ball!! I love to play ball. Ball is life!!! I also love stuffed toys, random sticks in the yard, and most of all, a bone with some peanut butter in it! I am housebroken and crate trained!
