Are you looking for a dog to go on adventures with? An active dog who likes to play, run, and hike, then settle in for some first-rate snuggles? Do you get starry-eyed over dogs with giant ears?
Mavis is an absolute gem. 3-4 years old, just over 40lbs, spayed and up-to-date on all medical, this girl is loving, gentle, smart and trainable. Good on leash, house-trained, and good with kids and other dogs. However, she needs a family that can work with her on her anxiety - she is currently on anti-anxiety meds, and as she weans off of them she will need someone with the time and patience to continue doing that work. Her anxiety is most likely related to a need for more mental stimulation and activity, so she will need someone who understands that and is excited to do that work with her - she would excel at sports like agility or hunting.
Mavis’ ideal home would be with someone who works from home or a family where someone is almost always there, with the time and desire to work with her. Another playful dog would help her adjust as well, though cats are not recommended as she has a high prey drive.
