HANNAH ~2-3 years old. Good with dogs. Kids and cats TBD. Needs a companion animal.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC onlyHannah is a stunning beauty with a personality to match! Hannah is about 2-3 years old (best guess) although I would guess on the younger side. Hannah was extremely emaciated when she arrived at the shelter. The poor girl was pitiful and weighed a mere 31-40 Pounds. She had been picked up as a stray and clearly was not too good at foraging for food. Fortunately there is nothing wrong with her medically and once she started getting fed a couple of meals a day she started putting some weight back on. She is still a bit thin but she is up to almost 41-50 Pounds now. (Slow weight gain is a healthier approach). I would guess that she will be about 65-61-70 Pounds when she reaches ideal weight.Hannah is a very sweet girl! All she wants is to love and be loved. She is very eager for attention and will come right over when you call her. She has a beautiful face and soft expressive eyes. Hannah has a personality very much like a puppy. She was very quiet and meek when she first came to the rescue...I think part of it was due to the fact that she was so weak and thin. Now that she has settled in she is such a fun dog. She loves to run around and play with the tennis ball. She has a playful personality and she just radiates happiness. There is not a mean bone in her body she is an overall great girl. She loves attention from her human and will curl up on the end of the bed and sleep with you if you let her. Hannah is crate trained and housebroken. She will flip over for belly rubs and happily kick her feet in the air. She gets a bit spastic when she gets a lot of affection. It is very cute. I do not think she had a good life before arriving in rescue and is doing her best to impress and engage with her humans!Hannah is good with other dogs....she was a bit nervous when first introduced but now she just loves to run and play with them. She seem respectful of the alpha female in the household. Hannah has done well with both old and young dogs and also one of the resident dogs that is about 21-30 Pounds. I have noticed her looking at the other dogs for cues and do think that she would like a companion animal as a playmate. Hannah is a bit atrophied from being so thin so a fenced yard is preferred so that she can continue to run and play and gain muscle mass as she continues to gain weight.Hannah is also food motivated and will probably do very well with additional training. She is very eager to please and loves to be praised. Overall she is a wonderful girl that seems very adaptable. She rides well in the car and enjoys going for walks. She has not yet been cat tested but we will try to do that. Hannah is one of the easiest dogs I have fostered. Hannah is the kind of dog that would be happy to go hiking through the woods stroll around downtown or just curl up on the couch and watch movies. She just want to engage with her people and be involved in the activities. She is just a very loving girl that is going to be a wonderful addition for some lucky family. Hannah will be quite popular so if you think she might be the one for you please come and meet her soon!
