SAVANNAH ~ 2 1/2 to 3 years old. Good with older considerate children. Dogs and cats TBD.GSRA Adopts to residents of VA NC and SC onlyMy name is Savannah and I am a very sweet and gentle girl looking for my forever family. I am on the petite side and currently weigh about 51-60 Pounds. I will get a little bigger. I am a bit timid when meeting new people but once I trust you I am very friendly and engaging. I am very well mannered in the house and I'm content just to lay nearby and observe what's going on. I am not a high energy dog. I will come sit in front of you and wag my tail gently in hopes that you give me a treat but I know not to be pushy or paw at you. I try to let my sweet soulful eyes work their magic. I do have a noticeable limp on my front leg. The rescue had an x-ray done and the vet feels that is an old injury that just didn't heal properly. It does not affect me too much but I am not a candidate for someone who wants a jogging partner. I am housetrained and crate trained and take care of business quickly when I am with outside. I do not care to be outside by myself I really just want to be near my people. I am a very sweet girl who impresses everyone that I meet. From foster mom:Savanna is one of the most gentle and polite dogs I have ever fostered. She is just a gem. We do not know her background as she was picked up as a stray. We are estimating her at 2 1/2 to 3 years old. When she was brought to the shelter she was very thin and was having trouble walking. She appeared to be in pain in all her legs. She tested positive for a tickborne disease and has been on antibiotics. This seems we working wonderfully and her mobility does not seem to be an issue anymore. She still has the limp as mentioned above.Savannah seems a bit apprehensive at other dogs. She does not react on leash but will get a little growly if a strange dog approaches her face. We will work on some dog introductions to see if it's just fear or lack of socialization with other dogs.Savannah is heartworm positive and has to undergo treatment.Savannah is a sweet and polite little dog and will be a great addition to some lucky family.
