NEMO ~ 1 year old. Good with kids and dogs. Not good with cats. GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only Nemo is an adorable young boy in search of his forever family. Nemo is about 1 year old and is a plush coat...he has slightly longer fur fuzzy ears fuzzy feet and a really neat "wave" action going on with most of his coat. He is very soft and quite unique looking! He also has very intense eyes which are striking. Nemo is a medium sized boy weighing in at 51-60 Pounds. He will not get too much bigger.Nemo is a total love bug! He adores attention and loves to be petted and interacted with. He is a typical puppy and is very excitable and needs to learn some manners. Nemo came to us from a rural shelter....he had been picked up as a stray and had an injury to his front paw. As it turns out Nemo had been shot! Why anyone would shoot such a sweet dog is a mystery. Nemo has two broken bones in his paw as a result of this and is currently in a cast/splint while the bones mend. In spite of this he remains quite a happy fellow. He hobbles around with his cast and is very tolerant of the cone as well. Due to the injury he is on crate rest so he has not been allowed to play/interact with resident dogs for his own safety.Nemo just wants to play! He seems fine with dogs when he was initially introduced. He loves people and will happily participate in whatever you are doing. He is a typical puppy and likes to chew on things such as toys and shoes and anything that he perceives as a toy! He will need to be crated when he is not supervised until he learns what is appropriate to play with. Nemo is enthusiastic about everything...he also is prone to jumping and is a bit mouthy...again puppy behaviors that we are we are working on discouraging. He will need a family committed to continuing to train him and help him develop into a well rounded companion.Nemo has exhibited high prey drive towards cats so a kitty free home is needed. He is crate trained and housebroken. He will probably need another 4-5 weeks for his bones to heal so he should be out of the cast by the beginning of September.Nemo is a very good boy who is sure to be quite popular! If you think Nemo might be the one for you come meet him soon.PLEASE NOTE: Nemo will not be placed in a home until he is given medical clearance any potential family must be willing to wait. Expected to be fully healed by early September 2018.
