SPUD ~2 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD.GSRA adopts to residents of VA NC and SC only.Just happy to be here! Meet Spud an easy going petite young adult. One of our volunteers said Spud is &ldquoendearing&rdquo and his foster mom fully agrees.Let's count the ways that Spud will capture your heart. One Spud is fully house broken. Two Spud walks politely on a leash and is non-reactive. Three Spud is still young. This is hard to believe because he is very calm and gentle in the house. But he still has years and years of yard zoomies and playtime. Four Spud gets along with all the kind doggies and listens to doggies who don't want to be friends. Five Spud is already trained in basic commands of &ldquokennel sit lay down stay&rdquo. Six Spud is crate trained although it needs to be an airplane style crate that isn't too big for him to feel secure. Seven Spud gets along with human children. He is currently living with a ten-year-old and had a calm visit with some toddlers too.Spud can be a funny fella too. He always lets out a giant groan when he lays down. He wants his food bowl on the ground so he can lay down while he eats. If you elevate his food bowl he will correct it. If you howl Spud will join in and howl with you. When Spud is feeling frisky he definitely is bouncy pouncy. It took some experimenting to find out that Spud needed an airplane style crate to feel secure. But Spud does still bark like crazy when the family gets home. He must be calm before he can come out and play which is still a challenge. For this reason Spud would probably not be appropriate for an apartment setting despite having a calm and quiet demeanor the rest of the time.Foster Mom has also given Spud the chance to prove he doesn't need his kennel but he didn't pass the test. He's still young she would try again in another six months.
