Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.
~2 years old. Good with older children. Should be an only dog. Good with Cats. Good for seniors and elderly. Apartment appropriate.Hi Y'all Kita here just dropping in with an update! I'm feeling great foster Mom says I can now run and play with my foster sisters and brother (I didn't have much fun this last month watching them play while I had to "be quiet" until I healed from the heartworm treatment). But I'm off to the races again!! Seriously we like to chase each other around the yard! I really hope with this new year I'll find my new forever home! I'm just a love bug who wants to be close to my humans. Whatcha say?Merry Christmas! Lookin' for a bed warmer? I'm the gal for you! I'm kid and cat tested and approved!I love my humans (foster mom says maybe too much)! I want to please my humans so much that I listen and learn very quickly! I would love to have a snuggle buddy.Update from foster mom: Kita does need a very strong leader as she is smart as a whip and wants to please so much. She would do well with an obedience class. She is kind of needy and doesn't like to share her humans with other dogs so she would be awesome as an only dog or with the right dog buddy. But don't let that stop you from meeting this sweet gal as she will steal the couch and your heart at the same time and you won't see it a comin'!All I need is love love love love!!!! Hi! I'm Kita I was lucky and was rescued from the shelter with my sister Thelma. Yes! I'm Louise of 'Thelma and Louise'. We escaped the shelter in SC and hitched a ride together to NC to our new foster home. After a week in foster care we decided it was time that we each had different foster parents (Yes we decided that because we are both love hounds and wanted all the attention to ourselves :-)Since I started my new life with GSRA I'm taking my new name Kita. I don't want to talk about my life before GSRA (foster mom says it doesn't matter since I was left at the shelter by my former owner).I'm house-trained and know most of the basic commands. I LOVE giving kisses and being a love bug. All I want to do is hang out with my people. My foster mom says I have a very soft disposition and a very kind soul. I get along great with me foster sisters. We play chase most the day.Foster Mom says I need some more work while walking on a leash and riding in the car. I think I ride great in the car! Well I have to since I'm helping her drive. From foster mom: Kita is an awesome little girl she is on the smaller size for a GSD. She is a little sweetheart. She would be a great companion for an elderly person or an older child.Want a lover? I love to get up close and personal!
