(2 yrs old) Good with dogs large and small. Good with older considerate kids. Not good with Cats. Would to better with a companion animal.Meet our handsome Loki boy! After a rough start being chained the first 2 years of his life Loki has been more than happy to make up for lost time and relive those puppy years! He loves his family and loves to play but can be jumpy and mouthy. But in the weeks he's been in foster care has made huge strides in stopping such behavior. He is basically 85 lbs of puppy &ndash but hey the more the love right?!Loki will need a calm home and breed-savvy owner who can appreciate his potential and is willing to continue working with him on curbing his behaviors. When meeting new people he can get over-excited/overwhelmed and will make inappropriate moves to try and play (this is especially true around men). He can be corrected easily and listens very well. We've found that he calms down a lot if he sits before any interaction and the trusty Dog Whisperer saying &ldquono touch no talk no eye contact&rdquo makes a world of a difference. He really loves people he just needs the chance to become completely comfortable around them. He bonds very quickly and is a total velcro dog never wants you to be more than 6 inches away. He is extremely smart and would greatly benefit from obedience classes. In fact he has so much focus and intensity he would really excel at having a &ldquojob&rdquo like agility courses or flyball. He is great at playing catch and will keep you laughing with all his goofy silly antics. He's got lots of energy and would love to go to an active home where he can get lots of longs walks hikes and play time (and he is great on a leash so not much work needed there!). He loves his big foster brother and really looks up to him so he would probably do much better in a home with another dog. Loki has excellent manners around other dogs except for sometimes barking at them when he REALLY REALLY wants to play. He is a big lanky boy and makes those awkward clumsy moves that puppies sometimes do. He is crate trained although it's not his favorite and spends about 4-5 hrs per day crated. And even though he sleeps in his crate at night he would not do well in a home where he has to spend more than 5 hrs crated as he gets very anxious but who can blame him being such a big guy he does not like being cramped up! He also loves kids but older considerate kids are a must who won't be misled by his boisterous moves. All this stunning boy needs is some patience and understanding as he learns the ropes of living in a real home with a real family. So if you think you might be the right fit for him and are ready for 85lbs of lap dog and puppy kisses Loki would love to meet you!
