Tripp's Story
Some stories start with heartbreak, but they can end with hope thanks to you.
Meet Tripp. At just 5 months old, this beautiful purebred German Shepherd puppy was hit by a car and left with no one to help him. My fingers hadn’t even left the keyboard after hitting send on our medical fundraiser last week when the call came in about Tripp—a puppy who needed urgent surgery and had no one. The veterinary team did everything they could, but one of Tripp’s legs had to be amputated.
Because of your support, we didn’t hesitate. We said yes.
We knew he’d need quick medical care. We knew it would be expensive. But we also knew this sweet, mouthy, full-of-life puppy deserved a chance.
Today, Tripp is recovering in a loving foster home. He’s playful, crate trained, good with small dogs and cats (though a bit too enthusiastic for some), and adjusting well to life on three legs.
Tripp’s care was costly, but his life is priceless. And he’s not the only one.
In 2024 alone, GSRA has spent over $69,000 on veterinary expenses. Dogs like Tripp and Zena are only saved because people like you step in to help.

Zena's Story

When Zena came to GSRA, she had clearly known more pain than love. Heartworm positive and neglected, she needed urgent medical care and a safe place to heal. We gave her both. Why? Because dogs like Zena deserve a second chance.
Thanks to generous supporters like you, Zena received the care she desperately needed. Her heartworm treatment, routine vaccinations, and vet visits cost $1,562.50—nearly five times our $325 adoption fee. And yet, she is just one of the many dogs we helped this year.
In 2024 alone, GSRA spent over $69,000 on veterinary and medical expenses.
We do not turn dogs away because of their medical needs. But we can only keep saying "yes" because people like you step up with compassion and generosity.
