Darby (Baby Girl)
IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY BABY GIRL - JULY 29, 1997 - OCTOBER 20, 2009. SHE WAS MORE THAN A DOG, SHE WAS MY PROTECTOR, MEMBER OF THE FAMILY AND MOST OF ALL MY BEST FRIEND! SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME THROUGH THE GOOD TIMES AND THE BAD, NEVER TO JUDGE ME ONLY TO LOVE ME! I MISS THE WAY SHE WOULD GREET ME AT THE DOOR WHEN I WOULD GET HOME WITH HER TAIL WAGGING, ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE ME! SHE IS DEARLY MISSED BUT WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED!!

Darshaun
Our precious boy! I remember the first day you came home. Seems like yesterday. You were a energized puppy with big floppy ears eager to chase your tennis ball. We thank you for all you gave to those families who lost their family members. You gave them something back that no one else could give them. You dedicated your life to being the best search and rescue dog you could be. You are loved more than anything in this world. We are going to miss you splashing in the pool, moon walking in the leaves and playing tug of war that you always won. Say hey to your sister, Angel. Daddy, Bunker and me will see you one day when we cross the rainbow bridge together. Dar buddy we love you more than anything!! Love Mommy, Daddy and Bunker

Dax
My beloved Dax passed away on April 24, 2013. He was 12 years, 3 weeks old. To say he was my best friend would be an understatement. He was my shadow, my clown, my alter ego. Dax had dealt with a litany of health issues since he was around 4, but thankfully I was able to keep him alive, comfortable and happy until the end (who needs a 401/k anyway?) His absolute favorite thing was a chunk of frozen sweet potato stuffed inside of his black Kong (the red ones just didn't last too long!) Exactly at 8 pm every night, I would have a spit-covered Kong heaved into my lap repeatedly until I gave in and fixed his treat. 2 times per night, like clockwork. About 6 weeks before he passed, I had a conversation with him and told him that when he wanted to tell me that it was time, he could give me a sign by refusing his treat. The night he passed, he brought me the Kong, I made his treat, and all was well. About 9:45, I made him another one, brought it to him, and he turned his head away. He went and lay down beside my bed, and by 11 he was gone. Honestly, the loss still hasn't sunk in completely. I know that everyone says this about their GSD, but there will never be another one like him. Kind, gentle, the most expressive face, protective, funny, all of the GSD traits were present in him. I appreciate the opportunity to share a little about my boy with everyone here. Thank you.

Delko
Delko came into our live in December 2006 when I drove to South Carolina to pick him up. The shelter volunteer and I met halfway which happened to be the South of the Border park. He came up to me , let me put a collar and leash on then jumped into my back seat as if to say "I'm ready-let's go". When my husband came home that night I basically became "chopped liver" and he became Daddy's big buddy. We had 8 wonderful years with Delko and thought we'd have more but on 11/04/2014 he failed overnight and a trip to the vet that morning revealed an abdominal Hemangiosarcoma that had ruptured. There was nothing to do but help him take his last journey. I miss him terribly but I know he's with the rest of our pack waiting for us and I know I'll see them all again.

Diesel
My Sweet Diesel Dawg...
Words cannot express the pain your loss has engrained in me.
I miss you so much more than I ever thought possible.
I rescued you, but you rescued me right back.
As an animal control officer , I recieve calls every day about dogs that need me.
But..I think that I needed you too. You reminded me why I do this job, even when it makes me cry.
You reminded me that people aren't all bad and that there are people that care.
You were more than a papa to champions and a show dog, even though your owner never told you that.
I loved you just for being you, and I always will.
Rest in peace my sweet friend, until we meet again.
