~6 years old.  Good with dogs and cats.  Kids TBD.

Lincoln AKA River(we renamed him, Lincoln) came to us straight out of the shelter. He has no teeth in between his top and lower canines and his top canines are broken. His bottom canines have been worn in half from the front from some sort of incessant chewing. Lincoln had flea dermatitis when we got him and was put on Prednisone and Benedryl right away to relive his itching. Soon after we got him and after his neuter, he became lethargic, did not want to eat or play and we suspected tick fever. After more blood work, he was put on more Prednisone and Doxycyline and he started showing signs of improvement. The blood work came back positive for tick fever.

Lincoln is a very sweet, sweet boy and has had a hard life in his short years. His back legs are kind of weak and we suspect he was confined for long periods of time, possibly used as a breeder. We have had to crate him to protect him from the pack because he is new here and he has adjusted to that well. He really does not need to be crated, but with 4 other dogs here, we want to wait until the pack has fully accepted him before we leave him out of the crate during the day when we are not here. Lincoln is really starting to blossom and loves being here. We do not have the heart to re-home him because he has been through enough and he will never want for anything while he lives with us and our pack. Lincoln is all about DAVE and they have a mutual admiration for each other. He desires much love and now thinks he is a lap dog, often pushing his way onto the couch to cuddle with Dave for extended periods. Lincoln has a sweet gentle soul and loves to please us. He has shown submission to the ruling pack members and is in the process of becoming one of them.
