Coco Sabine is a beautiful GSD in need of a new home. She is extremely sweet and despite all the work I have done with her, she remains a shy, special girl. I rescued Coco when she was six months old. The first owners left her alone in a backyard for the first critical six months and as a result she was painfully shy and difficult to handle. However, I looked into the shepherd’s kind eyes and was smitten. I took her home and named her Coco. For three years I worked her heavily in obedience and some agility. She blossomed and in the fall of 2010, we competed and titled in AKC Novice Obedience. As a summation of the challenge of learning to simply walk on a leash all the way to competition, it was an extremely proud moment for us. Today, sadly in order to do the right thing, I need to find Coco a new owner who is a good fit for her. Because of recent life events, I am unable to provide Coco the home she deserves and would be happier if she were to find a home with a knowledgeable owner who understands her needs. Coco is very well-trained and very sweet and gentle, however she does not like people or dogs in her face pressuring her. For example, the typical, "my dog just wants to say 'hi'" encounter is best avoided. Additionally, because of her strong herding instinct she does not do well with cats and other small animals such as squirrels. Unfortunately, Coco has been diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy – meaning the cause is unknown, however, her seizures are easily and inexpensively managed with medication.

Coco has been my friend and companion for four and a half years. Together we've been through good times and bad. I love my Coco and it has taken me a long time to come to this decision but I need to do what's best for her. If you think you are a good match for a special girl like her, please contact me.

Good with adults. Quiet and affectionate. Crate-trained. Very obedient – titled in AKC competitive obedience. Home with fenced-in yard preferred.
