~5-6 Years old. Good with kids and large dogs. Not good with cats or small dogs.
Meet Stella, she is a very sweet 5-6 year old girl who we adopted out a couple years ago. Due to unforeseen circumstances she had to be returned to us but she’s adjusted just fine and is ready for her new forever home. She is house and crate trained, up to date on all her vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative. She’s great with other dogs but not so good around cats so a cat free home would be best. She also has a fascination with smaller dogs, she likes to sort of “stalk” them and keep them in line I guess, unfortunately it doesn’t go over so well with the small dogs though. She’s fine with children though and just loves her family. She is a perfect house guest, in fact she doesn’t require crating but with 7 canine foster siblings, one being on the smaller side, she is currently kept in a crate during the day. She doesn’t seem to mind at all though, she puts herself in quite often, especially when it’s feeding time.
Now one thing about Stella is that she has some allergy and ear issues. She needs to be on a good quality food and her ears need cleaning pretty routinely. This poor girl must have suffered some bad ear infections when she was younger and all the scar tissue that developed doesn’t allow her ears to “clean themselves” like other dogs so we have to do it for her. It’s really no big deal though, she hates getting them cleaned but she’ll let you do it without too much of a fuss. Stella also loves the water hose, she will chase the water all day if you let her, it’s very comical but if you’re trying to get something cleaned you had better put her in the house because she’ll continually jump in front to bite at the water. Once you put the hose away she loves to roll in the grass, she is still just a puppy at heart sometimes!
Stella rides in a car well and is very well behaved, she could use some work when it comes to the leash though, she really gets excited and loves to pull. Of course we always recommend you attend a training class with your new family member even if it’s just for the bonding experience. She currently has a large fenced in yard to run in but really prefers to just chill out inside. She’s not an overly active dog, she’d be great for someone who just wants to play with her in the yard or take walks once or twice a day, she mostly loves being a couch potato and could fit most lifestyles, she would also be a perfect addition to an already laid back and quiet home!
