4 months old. Good with older considerate children, dogs and cats
Meet Lilith...Big Sis to puppy sibling Frasier (also available for adoption)! Cute, huh?! Lilith was born March 7th and is now 16 weeks old and full of life!!
Lilith came into the rescue at 8 weeks of age after her mom wandered up to a good samaritan's house and gave birth to her and her siblings. She is doing very well with her potty training and crate training. She will run right outside and do her business with a "go potty" command! No accidents in the house, but we make sure to set her up for success! She has fallen into a great daily routine with crating so runs right in her crate when she knows its time to chill. She sleeps through the night no problem, but is a great 7am alarm clock! She is used to a good romp and some exercise in the morning when she wakes up and then crates until around noon when she goes out for a romp with her dog buddies or walk and a potty break and then crates again until after work time...so she'll easily be able to mold into most household routines that can manage a midday potty break for the next couple months as she grows up and is able to hold it all day.
She loves to play with her toys and loves a good belly rub. She's currently in the puppy chewing stage so loves to chew on bully sticks, sticks in the yard, and teething toys. Given access to the proper things to chew, she stays away from other chew things like chairs and furniture, but needs supervision so that she continues to make the right choices! With chewing also comes mouthing which we are working hard to redirect her off of hands and arms and back onto her toys. She's learning well, but you must be calm and firm with her. We're also working on nixing the jumping too.
She plays well with other dogs but is a little spitfire! Her perfect home would include another dog that can be firm enough with her so that she learns proper play techniques, but also tolerant enough to engage in play with her so it helps to drain her puppy energy. Lilith has been introduced to cats and small dogs and does well with supervision from her humans so that she learns how to interact with them appropriately. Her big ole goofy puppy paws can do some damage if flailed around the wrong way!
Did I mention that Lilith is SMART?! She is walking beautifully on a easy walk harness (the kind that clips in the front...not on the back) but needs daily practice to keep up the good work as she grows and gets bigger. She's quickly learned that she must sit and wait for her dinner, sit and wait to be let in and out of the door, and sit politely to be pet. With a dog like Lilith (very strong willed and outgoing) it is imperative that she understands that nothing in life is free and good things must be earned. Once she knows the rules and what's expected, she falls in line beautifully...but, with no rules, she has the potential to completely wreak havoc and we DON'T want that!!
Lilith is a great gal and is going to be a fun girl to grow up with and watch learn. She's so ready to figure out what your rules are and work to follow them. Are you ready and willing to lead her through the puppy years and turn her into the best dog she can be?? She's waiting!!
