Oreo needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
OREO ~6 months old. Good with older considerate children, dogs, and cats. Needs a companion
animal.
Imagine that you are happily going for a ride with your people. It is a nice sunny day. Suddenly the car stops on a rural road, and you and your people get out. A quick pet on the head and they jump in the car and drive off..... Wait....what????? Where are you going???? This is what happened to little Oreo. Dumped at the intersection of a rural road near a farm. Fortunately the lady of the house was out working in her yard and heard the door slam and saw the car drive off, and poor little Oreo just standing there looking confused. She could not keep her, so she reached out to us for help. Oreo is a super sweet little GSD mix only approx 37 pounds. She is just as sweet as can be and gets along with dogs, cats, and children. Who could possibly dump such a good little dog?? Don't worry Oreo, we will find you a home where you will be loved and treated well!! Oreo has been in the rescue for a few weeks now, and she continues to thrive! She is just the sweetest little dog! Oreo is a very adorable GSD mix. The vet estimates that she is approximately 6 months old. We do not think that she will be a very big dog. Oreo is extremely friendly and very submissive. She adores people, children, dogs, and cats. She is just a total love bug! Oreo loves attention and will happily shower you with kisses. Her tail never stops wagging, and she eagerly darts around looking for someone to be her friend. She is very enthusiastic about making friends with the resident dogs. She wags her tail, whines, and licks their faces. She is very respectful of them, and rolls over submissively if they correct her. Oreo is very enthusiastic, and will be a great girl with a bit of structure and training. She is very food motivated and eager to please. She is very good in the crate and walks pretty well on the leash. She can be a bit over enthusiastic about getting attention...she will jump up on you when she gets excited. We are working on this. :) Oreo needs a family that will spend time engaging her in activities and help build her confidence. She has improved during the past few weeks, and I have no doubt that she will continue to make additional strides. Oreo would probably prefer a home with another doggie companion willing to play with her. I think she would also benefit from having another dog to "show her the ropes" and help teach her. Oreo is an absolute delight, and won't last long. She is one of the happiest dogs I have fostered. If you think she might be a fit for your family come meet her soon!!
