German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
~4 years old. Good with older considerate children and dogs. Cats TBD. Pele is an amazing boy and an utter love bug that is completely at ease in any environment. He is fairly independent, and while he does enjoy his moments of cuddling, he's not a shadow and is happy laying on the couch watching your activities from a far. It only took I'm a a few days to settle into the routine of his foster home. He has done very well one-on-one with other friend's dogs and has shown no signs of aggression in the house or when on a leash. He is a little mouthy when he gets excited, but has been responding well to training to manage this. That said, if a dog does something he doesn't like he's quick to make them stop but shows no signs of further aggression. Pele would be quite happy as a solo dog as he is very people oriented, or with another large dog as a company. With a moderate energy level he would be happy with either a yard to run around and play in or daily walks/runs. Pele is also quite flexible and agile for shepherd of his size. He walks fantastically and trots at his foster's side during 1-2 mile runs. He has his bursts of playful energy, but overall has a pretty mellow personality. He enjoys balls, and is learning to fetch, but really enjoys tug toys. He responds well to training and now knows how to sit and give up items nicely. He is crate trained, but has not shown any destructive tendencies when left outside the crate. Pele would likely be fine left out unsupervised for periods of time.
