MEGATRON ~4 years old. Good with older considerate children, dogs and cats. GSRA adopts only in VA, NC, and SC ONLY Meet Mega! Mega loved GSRA so much that he came back to us for a second round of rescue love. He is a big goofy love bug who has no interest in frolicking outside but instead wants nothing more than to lay with you on a couch or bed or even a chair if that's all that's available. He'll happily squeeze himself into an impossibly small ball if that gets him a chair to himself. Mega is generally good with all other dogs - and cats! - with whom he has come into contact. He's a bit socially awkward at first, so slow and gentle introductions are a must. Once he settles into the presence of a new animal, he's a perfect gentleman and by and large just prefers human contact anyway. He has shown some interest in play, but he doesn't have a strong ball drive or any favorite toys. Physically, Mega is getting into tip-top shape. He is responding well to treatment for a pretty nasty double ear infection, but he is one of those dogs who will probably always be prone to them. Periodic ear cleanings should go a long ways to fending off future infections. He is currently around 80 lbs, but he could probably get close to 90 lbs and still be at a very healthy weight. Mega can be a bit "mouthy" when he plays and gives affection. There's no aggression or biting, just a goofy lack of awareness that he has a big mouth with big teeth. He walks decently well on leash, but he has little interest in being outside and will pull hard once he's in the vicinity of home. Some formal training would go a long way with him. Crate training will not be necessary, however, as Mega LOVES a crate. He ran into a crate I was assembling for another dog before I could finish and plopped down, happy as a clam. He would love a crate of his own with a nice bed inside when he gets to his forever home. We're going to be extra diligent in screening potential homes for Mega. He will undoubtedly generate a lot of interest, but, as much as we adore this big fella, we want this to be his last stay with us!
