Madchen (pronounced May-chen) is a 5 year old red/black medium-hair purebred GSD. She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and heart worm negative. She is registered with the AKC and has paperwork.

I don’t know much about her past. She was given to me by a co-worker who is one of the K-9 handlers for our police department. He couldn’t keep her any longer due to his working dog and Madchen not mixing well. He said he got her from an elderly female who couldn’t handle her.

When I met her, she was very skittish. She had a problem with what we think is submissive urination. Madchen joined her “brother” (another shepherd mix that we rescued) and were inseparable. Four years later, she isn’t skittish anymore and she has just about kicked the submissive problem. She would probably do much better with some dedicated training that I just couldn’t give her.

She puts on a good front, but she isn’t aggressive at all. She gets along well with other dogs after a warm-up period. She is pretty good with knowing when to be mellow and when to be excited. Madchen has a very loud bark, and definitely likes to let other people and animals know she is there. After the initial announcement, she will go on her way.

Madchen is a very loving and loyal girl. She is completely house trained, crate trained, and knows most basic commands. She can get somewhat anxious at times when there are large crowds or smaller children always in her face. At those times, she is perfectly content to watch all of the excitement from her crate. She does fine alone by herself all day.

Overall, she is a great dog. Well behaved and doesn’t chew on things lying around the house. She has got into the garbage a few times, but I think that was more to let us know she wanted attention.

Sadly, we have to re-home her due to a merging of families. My new wife and her son are allergic. I am as well, but have endured it. I refuse to keep them outside, so I hope to find someone who can benefit from their company. Her “brother” was already taken by a family member, but I just can’t seem to find anyone who wants a GSD.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG. ONLY CONTACT THIS INDIVIDUAL ABOUT THIS DOG. THE CONTACT HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH GSRA AND CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS.
IF YOU NOTICE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE POSTER HAS BEEN REMOVED, THIS MEANS THE PUP IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
