GSRA Adopts in NC, SC, & VA ONLY
Jasper is one of the puppies from the Gem litter. He was the smallest of the litter at birth, but he has more than made up for this with a recent growth spurt. According to his last vet visit, Jasper will more than likely be over 75 lbs when full grown!! Jasper is a very sweet and loving puppy with all the energy of an atom bomb rolled up in a cute little snuggly fuzzy package. He loves to play with his siblings and his foster pack and loves to give hugs to his humans, and wash your face if allowed. He will snuggle with you on the couch or with any pack member at nap time and truly wants to be part of a Pack. He loves to play rough with his sister, but is a little more shy in playing rough with the bigger dogs. Because of his over activeness the only time his foster momma can get a picture of him is when he is sleeping, so don't let his calm pictures fool you. Jasper will keep you busy and on your toes. Unlike his sister Crystal, he has no desire to climb fences or make massive jail breaks unless his human is out of sight or reach. Jasper is looking for someone who understands his deep desire to be right next to his human as much as possible. He is also looking for someone who can help him build his confidence slowly when being introduced to new people, places, and especially other strange dogs. He loves going on walks and exploring new areas; however, he is more shy about new animals and people outdoors. Jasper needs someone who can read shy puppies and help bring out his bashful nature at a slow pace. Once he has decided his new friend is OK, they must be prepared for multiple puppy kisses and big hugs. Jasper is working on his training and is highly food and treat motivated but is still learning to focus. Jasper is still working on being potty trained and needs a mommy or daddy who is willing to take the time to train him from day one on what exactly is expected from him in a calm and gentle method at all times.
One important factor that Jasper is looking for in a forever home is someone who understands how to rub his belly correctly and provide multiple treats throughout the day. Preferably on command. He would also prefer to sleep in whatever room you are in as he does not like to be away from his humans or siblings.
Jasper would do best with a companion animal and is not recommended as an only dog at this time. He can play a little rough once he is comfortable so no small children is advised as he may unintentionally hurt them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his cute fuzzy body, but he is a wild puppy and needs the patience and training to be the best pup ever.
It is GSRA policy we do not adopt dogs under the age of 1 year to families with children under the age of 8 years old.
