~2 years old. Good with kids, dogs and cats. (COURTESY LISTING) Date Posted: 5/26/2014 This is so difficult. We got George from a shelter when he was 12 weeks old. He is a beautiful shepherd mix - about 70 lbs. He is incredibly intelligent and fiercely protective. He loves kids and is used to other dogs. The problem is George is also incredibly stubborn. He is completely housebroken, but has a problem with walking on a leash. We don't have anyplace for him to run so he gets a bit hyper. We had a large family gathering and he was awesome with the kids - very young children ages 3 months to 3 years old, as well as my daughter's 3 month old shiatsu. My youngest daughter also moved back home with her 2 year old dog and they get along great. I love this dog and it is breaking my heart, but without being able to take the role as leader to his alpha personality, I have no other options. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG.
