~12 years old. Good with kids and dogs. Good for seniors/elderly. Not good with cats. Apartment appropriate.
Updated Bio: Okay, it’s true, I’m no spring chicken, but I keep up with the 2 younger shepherds in the household. We walk 2 ½ - 3 miles every morning and I show the others how to walk on a leash. I could walk without one, but there’s a leash law in this county. I am calm and settled and pretty independent. I enjoy being with my family, but I’m not clingy. If the others in the household want to be divas or BMOC’s, it’s fine with me. If you are looking for a potty trained, crate trained, responsive and confident shepherd mix, I’m the one. Rainy mornings find me a little stiff, but my walk loosens me up and my foster mom makes sure I have supplements to help keep me comfortable.
Look at that face! How could anyone say no to that face? Want a companion to hang out with, walk with, garden with and travel with? Charity is all that and more. She loves dog savvy kids, other dogs and all people. She will bark to alert you if anyone is around (or when a doorbell rings on the TV, or for real) and will stop when you tell her to. She wouldn’t hurt a fly, but she will hurt a cat. She’s interested in little critters but doesn’t chase them. She will not wander out of the yard, she’s completely trustworthy. All around, she is the best foster dog I have had and I feel sure that she will be around several years. She’s on the small side and she has sheltie in her.
Original Bio:
Charity was the victim of an eviction through no fault of her own. Being 12, we could not let her go to a shelter, so GSRA graciously took her in and she is safe. Charity is such a good girl. Calm, friendly, loves kids and people in general. She previously lived with 5 kids and seems to miss them. She walks 2 - 3 miles everyday with her foster siblings with no problems. She is submissive with all dogs and will make a wide berth around any dog who has a problem with her. Charity needs a home where she can just hang out and enjoy your companionship. She is not needy or clingy, just wants to be inside with you and do her own thing. She will chase (and harm) cats, moles, voles, chipmunks or anything that scurries around. She is fine with small dogs, though. She does bark, but we are working on that. She is learning that it is okay to alert, but then she must settle down. You will not find a sweeter girl than this one. I've know her for all 12 years of her life.
