German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young
Angel ~2 years old, good with children over 10. Not good with dogs or cats. Greetings! My name is Angel. I was left at a shelter by my original owner who was dying of cancer. I was very scared and lonely at the shelter, but then GSRA rescued me from the scary place and said they’d find me a great new home! I am very excited for this, so let me share a bit about myself so you can see if I might be a good member of your family. I’m a stunning medium sized girl, weighing ~60 lbs. I will follow you everywhere, and am happiest to be near you. I love attention and being petted but am also am quite content to just lay down and watch when you’re doing something in the house. I am very calm, crate-trained and non-destructive in the house. I enjoy going for walks, have good leash manners and LOVE playing around in the yard!! I’ve "discovered" the tennis ball and am working with my foster mom to bring it back to her, which is loads of fun. I got the "sit" down real good and am very attentive. Sometimes you will find me gazing at you lovingly and trying to communicate with my eyes…you see I’m a sheppie and that is part of my DNA. My dream is to have my own forever family who will love me and play with me. I hope you come soon!!!! From foster mom: Angel is a very intelligent gorgeous athletic girl. Once she bonds with you she will be your devoted, loyal friend. She does take a little while to warm up and can be a bit nervous when meeting new people but once she knows you’re OK, she is sweet and affectionate. Angel is a true velcro dog and will follow you around wanting to be near you! She has extremely expressive eyes and at times will give you that sheppie look like she is thinking too hard which is absolutely adorable. Angel needs to be an only pet, but don't worry, she has plenty of love to share! She’s well behaved around other calm medium/large dogs while all are on leash. She does have a high prey drive, and will chase after other animals when they move quickly so no small dogs, cats or squirrels for this girl. Angel is very eager to learn, takes correction well, and is food motivated, so she’s easy to train. She sometimes likes to see what’s on the counter so it’s best to keep all goodies outside of her reach. She’d be great jogging partner and we’d encourage her family to continue her training in formal obedience. Angel is a real gem and is going to be a great addition to some lucky family so come and meet her soon!!!
